Department of Political Science, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, organized the fifth annual lecture in commemoration of United Nations Day with Dr. Deepak Bhaskar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Nagaland University as the speaker at Conference Hall, FAC, Mokokchung. 
Vinod Kumar, Vice-Principal, FAC welcomed everyone to the lecture and congratulated the Department of Political Science for organizing the annual lecture series and said that inviting scholars from various institutions increases our knowledge level. He added that such lectures contribute towards making the college an excellence of learning. The vice-principal also led the gathering for the Rashtriya Ekta Divas pledge.
The speaker, Dr. Deepak Bhaskar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Nagaland University spoke on the topic, “Democracy, Hegemony and War: A critical analysis of UN in 21st Century.” In his introductory note, Dr. Bhaskar said that the world is more in conflictual situation than in peace. “The world we live in is less peaceful than ever before. There is no corner where there is no conflict,” he said. 
He commented that there is reverse democratization and the world is moving towards apocalypse and anti- democratization is happening all over the world where problems and conflicts continue to rise and solving capacity is declining. 
In his lecture he talked about how UN is being used as a tool to create war-like situations by global powers. He investigated various reports of the UN and its performance in the 21st century and gave a critical analysis on the working of the United Nations.
